FS2 classrooms were filled with excitement as English week commenced on 17.10.22. Children drew and made their favorite ORT character stick puppets. They enacted some of the ORT stories in the Role Play area using those puppets. Day 2 was even more exciting for the little ones as they brought their favorite story books from home and narrated them to their classmates. Day 3 of the event was exhilarating as the ORT stories came to life. Children were ecstatic as they dressed up as their favorite ORT characters. Parents and children enjoyed a carousel of activities prepared by teachers in various areas to cater to 7 different ORT stories. The final day of English week concluded with children selecting their favorite ORT books from the reading area. They went to each other's classrooms and read/narrated the story in their own words. Overall, it was an eventful week as it helped children develop a love for reading and language.
FS children celebrated International Literacy Day on 8th September 2022. The students dressed up as their favourite nursery rhyme character. They enjoyed the parade through the FS corridors, singing their class rhyme. It was a fun event and children enjoyed their day. Day 1 - A day packed with activities ! The kids made words using playdough developing their literacy skills, they played a game of Word Hunt too. Most importantly, it was their dressing up day. Our little ones came dressed up as a special story character and shared their books with increasing confidence.
Day 2 - Our FS 2 children received a dear visit from their elder school mates. Our post 16 students joined FS 2 classes virtually to read different books generating interest in reading and developing listening and communicational skills. Day 3 - Our youngest learner met Ms. Piya Jayarajan , a published kids author and the parent of Advaith Arjun of FS2K . Ms. Piya shared her book with our young learners and she explained about the work of authors and illustrators. The creation and solving of cross words buzzles in FS 2 was EPIC ! Developing not only reading and writing skills but also higher order thinking. |
